Dr. Good Lovin’ Checks Out

It was too handsome and good to be true: Chandra Wilson’s Dr. Bailey on TV’s Grey’s Anatomy is headed toward Brokenheartedville.

Jason George (pictured at right with Wilson), the Eli Stone alumnus currently recurring on the show’s as Bailey’s new doctor beau Ben, has joined the cast of Off the Map.

That is, of course, the new ABC drama pilot, starring Martin Henderson, Enrique Murciano, and Caroline Dhavernas (she from the late TV gem Wonderfalls), that Grey’s Anatomy mastermind Shonda Rhimes is working on these days.

The actor will play Otis, one of several medical professionals who flee the U.S. to work at a clinic on a tropical island.

Aw, poor Bailey.

Update: In other news related to a Rhimes show, Caterina Scorsone (Lifetime’s 1-800-Missing) is joining Private Practice in the recurring role of Dr. Amelia Shepherd, one of Derek’s (Patrick Dempsey) never-before-seen sisters.

A crossover event between Grey’s Anatomy and its spin-off is not yet planned, but it is inevitable.
